                                        Climate Change

It's arguably the most pressing issue of our time, with alarming human and ecological ramifications. What can Oxford do to be part of the solution? Here is a clickable guide to practical action. Click on the numbers below. (It's currently still in progress, but should be finished soon!)

Resources for tackling climate change at Oxford

The university has just released an "energy toolkit" for staff and students, outlining targets and ideas for individual action. If you're interested, see the Estates Directorate website at http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/estates/environment/energy/, or download their "toolkit", below. (This is not an OUSU document, but I include it here as it's clearly relevant, with some interesting ideas.)

                                        Approaching COP17

We're fast approaching COP17, the next round of major UN negotiations over climate change, to be held in Durban, South Africa. In the wake of Bonn, Durban calls for realism; the UNFCCC project is a slow-moving, meandering monster, and Durban will be one more step in the process. Nonetheless, each COP meeting is critical in the ongoing effort to forge a powerful global agreement on climate change. We want to use the build-up to it as a means of raising awareness and concern at Oxford, so look forward to various happenings in Trinity 2011.
