Week 1: OUSU Environment and Ethics Campaign Meeting

Thursday 13th October
5.30pm-6.30pm
Its the start of the year and that means E&E choses its 3 new campaigns. Last year we had the Buy Right Campaign, the Recycling with Honours campaign and the Beds for Bees campaign- all of which were very successful.
What will we chose this year? Come along to our meeting this Thursday to help decide. If you have any ideas then bring them along too- the more choices we have the better. If you need help wording your campaign idea then contact eande.chair@ousu.org.

Week 0: Mad Hatters Tea Party

E&E invites you to an afternoon of fun and frolics in the sun at our Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Come and join us for jam tarts, finger sandwiches, tea and chilling out while you meet like minded people. There will be a variety of activities and plenty of food so we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Week 8: Day of Action and Celebration for Your Fairtrade City
Did you know that Oxford is a Fair Trade City? And that you can help keep it that way!
June 25th is a Day of Action and Celebration for Your Fair Trade City. Fair trade ensures that the people who produce your food and clothes have fair wages and decent working conditions. Help Oxford keep its fair trade status by finding out if enough city shops and restaurants are fair trade friendly.

- Join a giant “fair trade treasure hunt”
- Help create a Fair Trade Map of Oxford
- Volunteer as a photographer, designer, breakfast preparer or party organiser.
- In the week before the 25th, check if your own colleges and university departments are fair trade friendly
- Spread the word, display posters, distribute leaflets
- Help us celebrate our Fair Trade fabulousness in the evening!

Week 3: Srivinas Krishnaswamy Speaker Event

On Thursday of 3rd Week our E&E meeting will take a slightly different shape: from 6pm onwards we will be hosting an interactive speaker event.
Srivinas Krishnaswamy works with Christian Aid partner the Vasudha Foundation, based in India. Vasudha was set-up in January 2010 with the aim of promoting environmentally-friendly, socially just and sustainable models of development by focusing on alternative technologies and lifestyle solutions. Srivinas will kindly talk to us about his entry into and progress in ethical work, which should provide a very interesting and useful insight into the sector.
After the meeting the committee will be taking Srivinas out to dinner at Fire & Stone - all welcome! Let us know if you want to come, either at the meeting on Thursday, or email eande.socialsec@ousu.org
